An owl; done entirely in Painter using dry acrylic in layers - the eyes and beak are oil effect. This took three hours.

Thanks! I use Painter to make a rough airbrush shape of what I'm drawing, then I use an acrylic brush to draw on the layers of feathers. I do the eyes, beak and detail in wet oil, then add the final layer of feathers. I usually do the lighting effects in Photoshop 7.
Thanks for adding me to your favourites - I'm doing a horse and a tiger cub next :)
